Librarian Support Sessions
Librarians are available for in-person or online synchronous or asynchronous instruction. Librarian-led classroom instructional experiences are an important part of the Libraries instructional program and can be a helpful tool in student education. The sessions can be tailored to the student's specific research topics and needs.
Tips for Success
- Plan for the instruction to occur at the point of need, when students have selected a preliminary topic for their papers. This way, they can begin researching their own topics during the session. ·
- Poll your students ahead of time to find out if they have had library instruction in the past, either through tutorials, workshops, or visits with other courses to gauge their current level of comfort/skill in the library.
- Be prepared to share your research assignment(s) with the librarian. This is crucial to ensuring that we understand the full extent of the students' information needs.
