Study Areas in the University Library

ATTENTION:  For the Fall 2020 Semester:  all areas above the 4th floor are closed to ALL individuals except library staff.  Study rooms and other designated study spaces on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th floors should be used as signed.  Spaces that were typically able to be reserved but are not this semester should be considered on a first come, first served basis.  Please wear a mask, stay physically distance, and be safe.

The University Library offers multiple spaces for students to study. On the 1st floor, there are study rooms for small groups or an individual available on a first come, first served basis, a general study space next to the Murin Garden area, and other open study tables on the first floor.

There are four small group study rooms available on the 2nd floor that can be scheduled for up to two hours at a time along with the Flash Studio that can be scheduled by anyone needing to record a presentation or just hone their presentation skills.

The 4th floor of the University Library (aka the Fab Fourth) offers soft seating and vending machines for use by students along with six Media:scape Pods. A Media:scape Pod allows up to six students to simultaneously connect their laptops to one 42" monitor so that each student can easily view what is on another student's laptop screen. The pods can be scheduled for up to two hours of continuous use by a student or student group.

New on the 6th floor are eleven study rooms that can be scheduled for up to two hours at a time for use by one individual.

Floor 8 offers a designated quiet study area for students. Designated quiet study areas should be free of any conversation or cell phone disruptions so please be considerate of your fellow students.

All other floors in the University Library offer areas for study but are not designated as quiet or group study areas.
