If your Mac connects to the internet via ethernet cable then you can turn it into a hotspot for other devices!
To set up, open the Sharing section in System Preferences and enable Internet Sharing. (If prompted, click “Turn Wi-Fi On”.) Make sure that Ethernet is the connection source and Wi-Fi is checked under “To computers using:”. Next click on the Wi-Fi Options button to set up your WiFi network. Create a name and choose a security option in order to create a password, then OK to apply. Click “Start” and your wireless network is ready to access!
