If you're curious about what fonts are being used in a PDF file that someone sent you, it might be possible to find out from the PDF itself. To do so, Go to File > Properties (or Document Properties) then click over to the Fonts tab. It will list any of the "live" fonts in the document. Note though that it will not show any fonts that were converted to outlines (a graphic) nor fonts that are embedded within an image. It can be helpful if you are hoping to mimic a typeface or - if it's your design - check if there are extra fonts in the document that you no longer wish to use.
