software icon for iTunesIf you use iTunes to import music from a CD and find that you have trouble using the music files in other programs, try checking your iTunes settings. The problem may be that iTunes is importing music as AAC files which may not be compatible with the software that you are using. Go to Edit > Preferences (or iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) and under the General tab click on the Import Settings button. Under “Import Using” choose “MP3 Encoder” and click OK. This will work for all imports going forward. You can also convert music to MP3 that has already been imported. Simply right-click on the track and choose “Create MP3 Version”.
