Double-checking your splines in 3ds Max

by Hilary Kennedy on 2018-09-12T12:21:01-04:00 | 0 Comments

When working with splines in Autodesk's 3ds Max, is it always best to double-check that all of your vertices are welded together before converting your spline to an editable poly. To do so, follow these quick steps:

  1. Select "Vertex" under the “Selection” section
  2. Select the 2 points that you would like to weld together
  3. Scroll down to the section titled “Geometry” and locate the “Weld” button
  4. Increase the welding size (3.0-5.0 is typically best)
  5. Press the “Weld” button
  6. Once all points are welded accordingly, right click in the workspace and click “Convert To: Editable Poly”
