Using the photo cutout feature in iOS 16

One of the coolest new features (we think) of mobile iOS 16 is the photo cutout action. With the press of a finger, you can pull the subject of a photo from its background and either copy/paste elsewhere or share directly to Messages, email and more. To do so, open the chosen photo in Apple’s Photos app then gently press and hold on the subject until a glowing outline flashes around it. Next you’ll see the small popup menu choice of either copying or sharing the cutout. You can also drag and drop the cutout elsewhere, like another photo editing app, by pressing and gently and wiggling once the outline lights up, then using another finger to navigate to another app while you continue to hold the subject. This will work for people, animals, and obvious subjects like objects in the foreground. It will even work on pics you’ve taken of old printed photos or ones you’ve downloaded for the internet (for the most part). And it does a decent job, saving you lots of editing effort!!
