Using emojis in Google Docs

Google Docs iconWant to incorporate emojis into your Google Doc? Clearly, emojis are a part of our everyday communication nowadays, so what if you want to add them to your (non-professional) Doc? From your phone it's simple - just insert them through your keyboard. But you can also add them through the desktop version of Google Docs! It's a little buried but easy to find. Simply click on Insert > Special Characters. Then under the drop-down in the top left, change it from Symbols to Emojis.

Something cool you can do with the desktop version that we wish you could do on your phone: search by drawing! In this Special Characters pop-up window, there's an empty box on the right side. If you try drawing the symbol that you're looking for, a list of search results will pop up on the left side. Voila! You're welcome.
