Offline reading on my mobile device

For offline reading on mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets, ebrary supports the independent, highly-rated Bluefire Reader app, which is 100% free.

Install Bluefire on your device

1. On your device, click App Store (for iOS) or Play Store (for Android).
2. Search for Bluefire Reader.
3. Install it on your device.
4. You will need to create an AdobeID. Follow the link in the Bluefire app to do so.

Download books using your device

1. On your device, use a browser to connect to your ebrary site.
   • Use the same URL as when accessing ebrary from a computer (Note, on iOS devices, use Safari) http://site.ebrary.com/lib/kentstate/home.action
     • You can also search for the book you want in KentLink and select the “Full Download” option.
2. Sign in to your personal ebrary account (if not auto-signed-in).
3. Search in ebrary for the book you want to download.
4. Click the Full Download button.
5. Select the option to download the entire book, click OK.
6. Devices:
   • iOS devices:
     • You’ll be given the option to "Open In" a suggested reader.
     • If Bluefire isn’t the listed reader, click “…” to see the list.
     • Select Bluefire.
   • Android devices:
     • The downloaded ebook is put in your default download folder.
     • To find it, go to your apps, open “My Files” (or similar).
7.  When finished with the book, click the info tab and select “return item”.

Note that items used though ebrary are “checked-out” for 7 days. After the 7 day period has expired you will no longer be able to access the book.

The following publishers do not allow their content to be downloaded to personal devices:
