Material ConneXion (MCX) collects unique, innovative and sustainable materials from a wide range of disciplines throughout the world. These materials and their properties are entered into the
Material ConneXion database. This database provides access to information of more than 7,000 materials and design processes in a variety of fields of design. There are over 200 member Universities which subscribe to these cutting edge material sample collections.
At Kent State University, the collection is located in the John Elliot Center for Architecture and Environmental Design on the Mezzanine level (110A) in the Belden Brick Materials Library part of the Joseph F. Morbito Architecture Library. The collection consists of 200 innovative, hand selected samples geared toward the programs of Kent State University Architecture, Interior Design and Fashion Design students.
