KSU Proxy: Off Campus Access to Licensed Resources

You will need to use KSU Proxy if you are accessing databases, electronic journals, ebooks, and other licensed materials from off-campus on your computer. You may choose from two primary ways to use KSU Proxy:

  1. Begin your research on the webpage you're currently reading, or at https://www.library.kent.edu.
    • All links to journals, databases, ebooks, etc. on University Libraries' website are automatically configured for KSU Proxy.
  2. Prepend your direct links (e.g. bookmarks/favorites) to library resources with the KSU Proxy URL: https://proxy.library.kent.edu/login?url=

Ordering Materials & InterLibrary Loan

If you are unable to find the materials you need from the Kent State University Library or from OhioLINK, you may need to use InterLibrary Loan. You may also qualify as a "distance learner," in which case you can have any materials you need mailed to you, if they are not available online with the Campus VPN.

To order materials from the KSU libraries you need to have an InterLibrary Loan (ILL) Account set up. Your login information will be your FlashLine username and password. Make sure to select "distance learner" under the "which Kent State Campus" pull-down menu.

Login to your InterLibrary Loan Account (ILL)

Once you have your account set up you can use ILL to order books or journal articles. To order books you must fill out the authorization form. Once you have activated your ILL account, you can use it to order books and articles from Kent State.

To order books, you must login to your ILL account and fill out the information. Articles can be requested directly from the databases by clicking on the "order via interlibrary loan" link.
