The Cura software is used to convert .stl to .goode files.

The Cura program also uses .stl files to create objects.

Policy

Filament

Supplies can be purchased from Amazon or Matterhackers. Cost of filament varies on these sites. Users may also bring in their own materials for use in the 3D printer.

Both Taz 3D Printers and Ultimaker 3D Printers use 2.85mm PLA filament.

Cost of filament from Makerspace is $0.025/g. When loaded into the Cura program the control screen states the weight, for example: if it weighs 14g, it would cost $0.35.

 

The Dremel 3D Printer uses Dremel 1.75mm PLA filament.

Cost of filament from Makerspace is $0.06/g. When loaded into the Dremil program the  screen states the weight, for example: if it weighs 14g, it would cost $0.84.

The 3D Doodle pen uses 1.75mm filament.

Dremel 3D

The Makerspace offers 3 Dremil 3D printers for use.
These are easy and fun to use. If you would like to try your hand at 3D printing, come in and give one a try.
These require an .obj or .stl file to load into the Dremil program.
It uses 1.75mm PLA Dremil filament. Supplies can be purchased from Amazon.
