BMRT 11000: Intro to Business: Research Databases

This research guide will identify useful resources that provide company and stock market information

Getting Started

  1. Read this page and then go the Subject list of databases and chose "Business."
  2. Try the databases that are covered in this guide under the Research Databases tab (click on the tab above, a drop-down menu will list the recommended databases).  Standard and Poor's Netadvantage is a good place to start.
  3. Try the other Databases covered in this guide or chose appropriate ones from the Business subject list.

Selecting a Reasearch Database

Research databases are article and information search engines.

They may be accessed from an Alphabetical list (if you know the name of the database you wish to use) or from the Subject list (the preferred method).

These lists are available from this guide and from the library homepage

To start searching, click on the subject link above and then chose "Business."

The Business list is divided into 3 segments:

  • Try these first (the best business databases)
  • Interdisciplinary Databases of Interest (General interest)
  • Research Databases for... (Business related such as Accounting, Marketing)

Within these headings, the databases are alphabetical, i.e. they are not sorted by importance.

Why these Research Databases are better than Google

Research databases are article indexes that are selected and purchased by OhioLINK and KentLINK.  They contain valuable and scholarly information that is not available on the free web.
