Data & Statistics Tools allows you to access U.S. Federal Executive Branch datasets. Click on the name of a dataset to view additional metadata for that dataset. By accessing the data catalogs, you agree to the Data Policy. offers data in three ways: through the "raw" data catalog, using tools and through the geodata catalog. The "Raw" Data Catalog provides an instant download of machine readable, platform-independent datasets while the Tools Catalog provides hyperlinks which may lead to agency tools or agency web pages that allow you to mine datasets.

Statistical Abstract of the United States contains summarized statistics on the American population, economy, and political environments. The most recent print edition can be found on the Ready Reference shelf (HA202 .S8). Older copies can be located using the Muskingum Library Catalog.

The US Census Bureau has created the American FactFinder web site to allow for easier access to data from the 2000 census. On this web site you can locate aggregated statistical information on people, housing, and businesses. 

Historical Statistics of the United States is the standard source for the quantitative facts of American history. HSUS provides data on social, behavioral, humanistic, and natural sciences including history, economics, government, finance, sociology, demography, education, law, natural resources, climate, religion, international migration, and trade - quantitative facts of American History. The fully search-able and down-loadable electronic edition permits users to graph individual tables and create customized tables and spreadsheets reflecting their own particular areas of interest.

FBI Uniform Crime Reports publishes a wide variety of crime related statistics from 17,000 US law enforcement agencies. Data is compiled annual into Crime in the United StatesHate Crime StatisticsLaw Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted and other specialized reports.

The CIA World Factbook provides geographic, demographic, economic, and political information for each country.

FedStats is a gateway to locating statistical information produced by various departments of the US Federal Government. Statistics can be located by browsing a list of topics or Federal agencies.

CensusScope, created by the University of Michigan, allows you to view demographic trends based on 2000 Census data. The site uses colorful maps and charts to depict nationwide and state based statistical information.

UNdata allows you to search across multiple sources including official statistics produced by countries and compiled by United Nations data system, as well as estimates and projections. The domains covered are agriculture, education, energy, industry, labour, national accounts, population and tourism.

Demographic Yearbook disseminates statistics on population size and composition, births, deaths, marriage and divorce on an annual basis.

Stat-USA - Links to resources (Rick Gause - University of Central Florida) - When it existed, STAT-USA pulled together information from many different sources, some of which are available from other government websites (e.g. Bureau of Economic Analysis, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Federal Reserve)
