University Libraries Reopening Plan

This guide provides information on the staged reopening of Kent State University Libraries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reopening Committee Charge and Membership

Committee Charge

The KSUL Reopening Committee is charged with the following tasks:

  • Develop an initial plan or progress report due by June 16th.
  • Reach out beyond the committee membership to consult with other faculty, staff and students within and from outside the libraries as needed.
  • Create a phased plan that addresses the dimensions of people, space and platform per the example of the Connecticut State Library (https://libguides.ctstatelibrary.org/dld/COVID-19).
  • Provide guidance on phase definitions and trigger points to enter new phases or reenter old phases.
  • Address which services can be offered, which cannot be offered, and which require modified approaches (e.g., remote delivery, curbside pickup, etc.).
  • Identify needed resources.
  • Identify outstanding questions or unknowns.
  • Incorporate guidance and plans developed by the team examining how to service print collections.
  • Develop a LibGuides page to share the plan.
  • After June 16th, adapt and revise plans in consultation with the KSUL Dean’s Office as federal, state, and university guidelines change and evolve.

Committee Membership

The KSUL Dean’s Office created the Reopening Committee through consultation with the College Advisory Committee, Staff Advisory Council, and library leadership.
