While the Morbito Architectural Library and Kent State University Libraries provides access to vast information, local public libraries offer other valuable resources for designers.
Public Libraries offer practical training and instruction opportunities. They may offer software training (Linkedin Learning), exam preparation (Learning Express Library), foreign language instruction (Mango Languages), and more.
LinkedIn Learning
LinkedIn Learning is an online learning platform containing over 6,000 online courses and 250,000 video tutorials teaching software applications (Rhino, Revit, Photoshop, Grasshopper, and more), business skills, photography, and more. Individual subscriptions can be purchased via their site.
In addition, several local libraries provide free access to Linkedin Learning with a public library card. Some have online library card applications, but may require an in-person follow-up visit. Ohio residents can apply for library cards from any Ohio library. Out-of-state residents living in Kent, should start by contacting Kent Free Library regarding obtaining a library card. Please contact the library for the required application materials.

When exploring the local history, public libraries from those towns often have more materials than university libraries. Seek out their Special Collections or Genealogy Departments. In addition, several libraries have digitized local materials as “memory” projects.
