University Libraries Student Assistant Scholarship

Please check back for information about applying for a scholarship for the

2015/16 academic year!

University Libraries is pleased to announce the First Annual Student Assistant Scholarship Competition.  Eligible students include Kent Campus students in good standing with the University, who will be Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors in the 2014/15 academic year, who demonstrate financial need, and who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Financial need is determined by information in the FAFSA the student completed and has on file for this year in the Financial Aid office.  Also, preference will given to students who work in the University Libraries. The $1,000 award may be used for tuition, books, or fees, and may be won only once by a student. The funds will be applied to the student's account by the Bursar’s office - half in the Fall semester of the award year and the other half in the Spring semester.

  • For application process and requirements - see the tabs above for “How to Apply” and “Timeline”.
  • For important additional information - see the FAQ tab above.
  • This year's recipient will be announced during the University Libraries Student Appreciation Event in Spring 2014.

Scholarship Background

In the fall of 2013, University Libraries created an endowment to fund the first University Libraries Student Assistant Scholarship
at Kent State to be awarded in Spring 2014 for the 2014-2015 academic year.  We are sincerely grateful to the University
Libraries National Advisory Committee and the Friends of University Libraries for their generous contributions to financially
support the scholarship. It is our hope that the fund will grow and additional scholarships will be available in the coming years.
