About Training and Instruction

Instructional sessions for statistical software can be requested by instructors and campus organizations. When you request instructional support for statistical software, we'll create a customized presentation, seminar, or workshop to fit your students' unique needs. Presentations can be created for any of our supported software packages, and can be up to sixty minutes in length.

We can mix and match any of the following components in a presentation:

  • "How-to" software demonstrations
  • Informational sessions
  • Comparison of software packages

Questions about Instructional Services

Who can request instructional session?

  • Instructors
  • Supervisors
  • Campus organizations

In general, we do not accept instructional requests from students enrolled in a course, unless the request comes from the instructor.

Are instructional sessions only held at the Kent campus?

No. Arrangements can be made to hold the seminar at your campus or to hold a webinar; please contact us directly at

Will you only give presentations during my class's scheduled time?

You can choose to have the seminar given during your class's regular time, or to have the presentation held outside normal class hours.

How long does it take to create a presentation after I submit my request?

The amount of time required to prepare your presentation depends on the length, complexity, and interactivity of your request. When we first respond to your request, we'll give you an approximation of how long we'll need to prepare, and can set a tentative date, time, and location for the presentation. In general, we ask that you allow at least 7 business days for us to prepare your request.

Does Statistical Consulting ever give public seminars or classes?

Any workshops or presentations open to the public will be listed on our websites.
