Children's Literature in Special Collections

The Department of Special Collections and Archives, located in the Kent State University Libraries, has extensive holdings in children's literature including books and archival materials. Some highlights include

  • one of the world's largest collections of Babar the Elephant books and merchandise
  • the publications of the Saalfield Publishing Co. of Akron, OH
  • a large collection of juvenile series books

Please note: The Department of Special Collections does not house or administer the Reinberger Children's Library Center and Marantz Picturebook Collection, both of which are located in the Kent State University iSchool.
