Mark Monday joined the faculty in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Kent State University in the fall semester of 2007 and serves as Head of the MFA Acting Program. Mark’s extensive directing credits include favorites King Lear, Once On This Island, The Learned Ladies, As You Like It, The Who’s Tommy, Moby Dick-Rehearsed, and the final professional production of Seven Guitars prior to the death of August Wilson.

Director Michael Rupert and crew spoke about of Kent State University’s production of Spring Awakening.  The production ran from Feb. 15th through 24th at Kent State University; for tickets, contact the box office at 330-672-2497.

As an actor, Mr. Rupert has starred on Broadway in Legally Blonde The Musical (as well as the MTV Production), Ragtime, Falsettos (Tony nomination), City of Angels, Mail, Sweet Charity (Tony Award, Drama Desk Award), Shakespeare’s Cabaret, Pippin and The Happy Time (Tony nomination, Theater World Award).  Off-Broadway credits include: Elegies, Ancient History, Putting it Together, Falsettoland, March of the Falsettos, Splitting Infinity and 7th Monarch.  Regional productions include: Elegies (Barrymore Award), Adrift in Macao, A New Brian (Helen Hayes nomination), Don’t Stop the Carnival (Carbonell nomination), Merchant of Venice, Falsettos (LA Ovation Award), as well as appearances at The Pasadena Playhouse, Hartford Stage, Paper Mill Playhouse, Repertory Theater of St. Louis, Long Wharf Theater, Geva Theater, Studio Theater, The Mark Taper Forum, Coconut Grove Playhouse, Geffen Playhouse, Philadelphia Theater Company, American Stage Festival, George Street Playhouse and The Goodman Theater.

As a composer, Michael wrote the off-Broadway musical 3 Guys Naked from the Waist Down (Drama Desk nomination) and the Broadway musical Mail (LA Drama Critic’s nomination).

Director Daniel Raymond Nadon spoke about Kent State’s production of The Rocky Horror Show. The production ran from Nov. 2nd through 11th at Kent State University.

Daniel serves as coordinator of theatre at the Trumbull Campus and co-coordinator of LGBT Studies at Kent Campus. He also teaches courses in Acting, Directing, Multicultural Theatre, Script Analysis, Lesbian and Gay Theatre, and Playwrighting as well as the Monday and Wednesday Art of the Theatre. In addition he directs two shows during the University Season and serves as Artistic Director during the Summer Stock season. He was the Artist in Residence at Fringe Benefits Theatre in Los Angeles in the Fall of 04'.

Director Eric van Baars and crew spoke about his interpretation of Kent State University’s production of Big Love.  The production ran from Oct. 5-14, 2012 at Kent State University.

As Associate Professor in the School of Theatre and Dance, Eric teaches Movement and Acting and has directed productions of Oklahoma, The Diviners, Lysistrata, On The Verge, Honk!, The Wild Party, and A New Brain. He serves as Assistant Artistic Director of Porthouse Theatre where he has directed Pump Boys and Dinettes and Dames at Sea and choreography for Once On This Island, Big River, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and The Fantasticks. On the Porthouse stage, he has appeared in The Music Man ( Harold Hill), The Odd Couple ( Felix) Anything Goes ( Lord Evelyn), Sweet Charity ( Oscar), Jesus Christ Superstar ( Herod), Guys and Dolls (Benny), and Oklahoma! (Will Parker). As a choreographer/director, Eric’s work has been seen at the Halle Theater, St. Louis Rep, Connecticut Rep, Berea Summer Theatre, Weathervane Playhouse and Cain Park. His performance credits include Walnut Street Theatre, GEVA, Theatre Virginia, Radio City Music Hall, St. Louis Rep, Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Cherry County Playhouse and Cincinnati Playhouse, as well as National and International tours. He is a member of Actors Equity Association and the Society of Directors and Choreographers.
