Kent State University Library Resources for KSUCPM: Getting Journal Articles

This is a guide to the library resources available to all students, faculty, and staff in the College of Podiatric Medicine community.

When you are not in a research database, but need a specific article

Go to the Journal Finder (the link to this tool is on the Libraries' homepage in the blue Research box).

  • Search by journal name. Note: article level information is not searchable.
  • This tool identifies both print and online journals available through KSU and OhioLINK.

--For online journals: Click on the title link for the journal. Determine if your volume and issue are available. For many titles, the recent years are available online and the earlier years are in print only. Also, be aware that the Libraries' have many different online journal collections that you may be directed to. One of our key sites for online journals is the OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center. This site is searchable also.

--For print journals: The Journal Finder will take you to a holdings page for print journals that highlights what volumes and years are available on the Kent campus. Where are those print journals? They are now located on the 6th floor in the Main Library, shelved alphabetically title. Current journal issues are filed with the bound volumes for each title. See the Floor 6 Map for more information.

When you identify an article in a research database (such as MEDLINE)

Click on   Find It! button.

  1. This will take you to a page where the electronic copy of the article will be linked. You will see a message similar to this:Full text online: Full text of this article in the EJC
    • If you do not see a link to full text, then click on the Get a copy via Interlibrar Loan link to request a copy of the article at no charge to you.
